Coconut sugar is a healthy and natural sweetener , extracted from the nectar of coconut palm blossoms which, after moisture evaporates, changes color to a dense brown crystallized substance. It is made up of 80% water, 15% sugar and 5% minerals.

In traditional Asian cuisine, this product has been present for many years, but it is now recognized in the West for its nutritional and beneficial properties for the body.

It is subtly sweet, almost like brown sugar, but with a slight caramel taste . The main component of coconut sugar is sucrose followed by glucose and fructose.

However, its glycemic index of 35 is considered low . It is considered to be healthier than any other sugar. It can be used as a sugar substitute for coffee, tea, baking, and baking.

It is rich in potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. It also contains vitamin B1, B2, B3, and B6. Compared to brown sugar, coconut sugar has 36 times the iron, four times the magnesium, and more than 10 times the amount of zinc.
